This is NOT a universal family rebate. You must be receiving Family Tax Benefit as assessed by Services Australia.

>As assessed by Services Australia (Centrelink)

>Must be the electricity account holder

How to apply

1.Apply online at service.nsw.gov.au

2.Or call Service NSW on 13 77 88

3.Have your Centrelink Customer Reference Number (CRN) ready

Common mistakes

Not everyone with children qualifies — you must be receiving Family Tax Benefit

If you also receive the Low Income Household Rebate, the Family Energy Rebate is capped at $20 per year

You need to reapply each year through Service NSW

Combining with other rebates

Can be combined with the Low Income Household Rebate (but capped at $20). Can be combined with the Seniors Energy Rebate at full value.
