>Must hold an eligible concession card (Pensioner Concession Card, Health Care Card, or DVA Gold Card)
>A household member must have an inability to self-regulate body temperature due to a medical condition (e.g. Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis)
>Requires a signed form from a medical practitioner who has treated the patient for at least 3 months
1.Download the Medical Energy Rebate application form from service.nsw.gov.au
2.Have your treating doctor complete the medical certificate section — they must have treated you for at least 3 months
3.Submit the completed form to your electricity retailer
4.The rebate is backdated to the date of your application
The medical condition must specifically affect temperature self-regulation (e.g. Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis) — general medical conditions do not qualify
You need BOTH a concession card AND the medical certificate from a doctor who has treated you for at least 3 months
The rebate stacks with the Low Income Household Rebate — you can receive both ($570/year)
